Children’s University
Led by Mrs. Maddison
At Rossington St Michael’s, we are proud to be part of the Children’s University Trust, a national charity that champions a love of learning beyond the classroom.
The Children’s University celebrates and encourages participation in extra-curricular activities, both in and out of school, helping children develop skills, confidence and a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Why It Matters
Research shows that taking part in enrichment activities can:
- Raise attainment
- Strengthen school engagement
- Boost self-confidence and resilience
- Raise aspirations for the future
Through Children’s University, our pupils have the opportunity to explore new experiences, visit inspiring places (including universities), and even take part in graduation-style ceremonies that celebrate their learning journey.
Our Vision
We believe that every child is accepted and can achieve.
Children’s University plays an important role in:
- Encouraging curiosity and lifelong learning
- Building partnerships with local and national organisations
- Broadening horizons and raising aspirations
- Developing confident, inspired learners ready for a bright future
Children earn credits in their Passport to Learning by attending validated clubs and activities in school and in the wider community. Families and local providers can also get involved by becoming validated learning destinations.
