About Our School
Rossington St Michael’s Church of England Primary School is nestled in the heart of Rossington village, directly opposite St Michael’s C of E Church. We are immensely proud of our school and its unique identity as part of the Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust (DSAT).
At St Michael’s, our Christian ethos is the foundation of everything we do, driving our ambition to be an exceptional school. We strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all are welcome, all are accepted, all achieve and all are loved. Currently, our school community comprises around 370 children, taught in single-age classes with two classes per year group, accommodating 20-27 pupils in each class.
While our school building dates back to the 19th century, it has evolved significantly over the years, with expansions, refurbishments and enhancements to ensure our indoor learning spaces are as inspiring and functional as our extensive outdoor areas.
We are dedicated to fostering exemplary values, outstanding relationships and excellent behaviour across the school. Our unwavering commitment to raising achievement and attainment is matched by our focus on delivering consistently high-quality teaching and learning. By holding the highest expectations and knowing each child as an individual, we aim to develop a culture of excellence.
Our curriculum encourages children to explore subjects in depth, celebrating perseverance, resilience and the courage to take risks. We embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, empowering children to own their learning. Mistakes are welcomed as valuable learning experiences and constructive feedback is used to nurture improvement.
We recognize the importance of working closely with parents as partners in their children’s education. Every decision we make prioritizes the well-being and best interests of our pupils, so that every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The children lie at the heart of everything we do.
