About Our School

Rossington St Michael’s Church of England Primary School is nestled in the heart of Rossington village, directly opposite St Michael’s C of E Church. We are immensely proud of our school and its unique identity as part of the Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust (DSAT).

At St Michael’s, our Christian ethos underpins everything we do and drives our ambition to be an exceptional school. We strive to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where all are welcome, all are accepted, all achieve and all are loved. Our school community is home to around 370 children, taught in single-age classes, with two classes per year group and 20–27 pupils in each.

Although our building dates back to the 19th century, it has evolved significantly over time. Extensive expansions, refurbishments and enhancements have ensured our indoor learning spaces are as inspiring and functional as our extensive outdoor areas.

We are committed to fostering strong values, positive relationships and excellent behaviour throughout the school. Our dedication to raising achievement is matched by our focus on delivering consistently high-quality teaching and learning. By holding the highest expectations and knowing each child as an individual, we aim to cultivate a true culture of excellence.

Our curriculum encourages children to explore subjects in depth while developing perseverance, resilience and the courage to take risks. We see challenges as opportunities for growth and empower pupils to take ownership of their learning. Mistakes are welcomed as valuable learning experiences, and feedback is used to support continuous improvement.

We recognise the importance of working closely with parents as partners in their children’s education. Every decision we make is guided by the well-being and best interests of our pupils - because children lie at the heart of everything we do.
